“ Amazing food. I always order for pickup and the food is warm and delicious. Being Peruvian I always crave a Peruvian dish and this restaurant never lets me down with their food. ”
“ On a dreary rain-soaked Sunday, out of the blue, my sister mentioned we should have Peruvian food for lunch. Looking to break from my usual rotation of lunch destinations, I agreed it was a good idea and searched for a local spot. Despite other more reviewed and also highly rated Peruvian restaurants nearby, I chose Latin Grill despite having only eleven four star yelp reviews due to its proximity. First impressions was this place is inviting, and that business was really good for a rainy Saturday lunch service. Thankfully we were seated quickly. We started with the Papa Rellena, which was a nice appetizer to start, with a nice crisp outer shell, and moist fluffy potato interior which was enhanced with a good portion of ground beef in the filling. I loved the the side portion of sliced red onions which added a nice tart and tangy punch to tame the starchy portions of the Papa Rellena. Besides Ceviche, the other most well known Peruvian dish is roasted chicken, and Latin Grill delivered with a truly awesome version. The first thing I noticed was the beautiful color and texture of the chicken skin with its deep caramel brown color and slight crisp texture. However the taste of the chicken was even better with the seasonings having such a strong flavor that extended beyond the skin and into the meat. I couldn't pinpoint exactly what the seasonings were but it was the best flavored roasted chicken I've eaten, even surpassing the highly lauded Pio Pio chain. Hold on, the yumminess went beyond the Chicken, as the red beans had the perfect bite to them and the gravy was so addictive spooned and mixed with the white rice. The only slight negative was the rather plain and watery tasting green sauce (which wasn't served with the chicken, as we had to ask the waiter for some). Funny thing is that my entree wasn't even the roast chicken, as my sister ordered that dish! I ordered the Bistec Encebollado (steak with onions and tomatoes) with a side order of the above mentioned ridiculously yummy red beans. The thin and tender steak (I think it was cube steak; a pounded tender top round or sirloin steak) had some nice flavor from the seasonings used, and was topped with some really well cooked (and generously portioned) peppers, tomatoes, and onions. I have to mention two additional things. Since when is Inca Kola available in a diet version? Once I saw the can in the drink cooler display, I had to try it, and it so so similar to the normal version! I enjoyed it so much I had to go the nearby Shoprite and was able to buy two 6-packs. Latin Grill also makes fresh fruit juices, and my sister chose a strawberry pineapple juice, and after trying a good portion I came away enjoying it a lot, as it was not too sweet, and had a clear vibrant freshness to it. We both enjoyed the food a lot, and will definitely be revisiting! ”
